The official date of the State Funeral is 19 September 2022. This day will be a bank holiday and settings that are normally closed on a bank holiday should close on this day as a mark of respect. Therefore Norton Infant School will be closed to staff and children on this day.
Thank you
Today Nursery spent some time thinking about the passing of Queen Elizabeth II. We watched the sketch with her favourite bear – Paddington and talked about why our own bears are so special to us as part of National Teddy Bear Day. Then the children made beautiful sympathy cards as part of our British Values to commemorate the Queen. May Her Majesty rest in peace.

Here’s a selection of beautiful work from across the XP Trust this week!

We have had a very exciting week and loved sharing a story called ’Tell me a dragon’. The children came up with some great describing words and used them in their independent writing. A dragon visited our classroom and left some footprints…Later in the week we became artists and created pictures of dragon’s eyes.

We have been having fun in class 1 making play-dough bears 🐻
The children are definitely hooked into our new expedition. Keep up the great work class 1 🙂

We have had an exciting Hook Week so far in Year One. A dragon came to visit our classroom….

We have also been designing and describing our very own dragons……..

We’ve had fun using forks to create our bear paintings 🐻 Take a look at our awesome art work…

So far in Hook Week we have been reading The Everywhere Bear by Julia Donaldson. Children have been getting to know their very own class Everywhere Bear that they each take home for a weekend, drawing pictures of bears and painting bear faces. Look at our beautiful work!

We’re starting our day sharing a book with our reading buddies in crew this morning.
