What an end to this half term…

I have received some brilliant photos and videos this week. You have all been so busy and I want to say a huge thank you for sharing all your incredible work.

Check out Chloe’s ‘Stop Go Animations’. I think we have a budding film maker in our class…

Harry Potter

Sit back and enjoy…

The children have also produced some beautiful art work and have redrafted their work to make it even better! Super stars…

We have been busy interpreting and drawing tally charts and pictograms in maths…

We have had some great discussions this week about whether animals should be kept in zoos. Here are some of our reasoned arguments…

You presented your ideas brilliantly 🙂

Enjoy your break everyone, you deserve it xxxx

Zoos – For or Against?

This week in English and Expedition we have been thinking about whether we are for or against zoos. We had some great discussions where we thought about both sides of the argument and generated our own conclusions. What do you think?

Our beautiful work

This week Class 4 have been working hard on their handwriting, letter formation and spelling. The children have demonstrated their resilience when practising their tricky, phonics and writing sentences.

This Week in Class 3

This week in English and expedition we have been producing non-chronological reports.

After identifying the key features of non-chronological reports we began using books, videos and the internet to research animals and complete research maps.

We then used everything we’d learned about non-chronological reports and animals to write our own. Take a look at some of our beautiful work.

In maths we have been working hard adding and subtracting using number bonds, tens frames, part whole models and bar models.

We have started learning about how people in Brazil celebrate with carnivals:

We looked at where Brazil is and identified the flag. We then started to design and make masks that we could wear to our own carnival parade next week.

We have also been working hard in maths this week:

We are looking forward to having our own carnival in Reception next week.

Natural ice decorations

We gathered natural resources from our playground and then made some hanging ice decorations. Our Nursery children loved watching the decorations melt and talking about how they were changing and why.

Class 6’s Non-Chronological Reports

We have been working hard this week and our efforts can be seen in the beautiful work we have created. We started our week by identifying features of a non-chronological report…

After researching our favourite animals we then created our very own report. Prepare to be amazed…

What fascinating facts!
Super choice of images 🙂
What an eye catching report!
Great picture and labels! I never knew a cat had been into space!
Very informative 🙂
You have found some amazing facts out about hamsters!

A HUGE well done for your efforts this week! Thanks so much for sharing your beautiful work 😊

Non-Chronological Reports

This week in English and Expedition we have been thinking about writing Non-Chronological reports.

We started by reading and critiquing some models.

Next we used books, videos and the internet to create a research map all about our chosen animals.

We then used everything we had learned about non-chronological reports and our animals to write our very own report – what do you think?

Learning about animals

Class 4 have had a very busy week learning about animals, sorting them into different groups and discussing their basic needs. The children have enjoyed singing ‘the sorting animals’ song and joining in with the actions. We have designed some feeding bowls for our pets, critiqued our work and planned our next steps. This week most children in our class have received their special award for reading lots of books at home and at school.
