Our first week back…

We have had such a great first few days back after our half term break. We have had a fabulous few spooky days, a Halloween disco, a new spooky Maths area to create spells – we needed to count ingredients into little cauldrons! We have enjoyed reading Room On The Broom and The Gruffalo!

This week in Class 4

We started our school week with a Halloween disco and had a great time when dancing and singing songs together. This week we look at the artwork of Quentin Blake and learn to draw characters in his style. On Wednesday we had our school vistor who trained us to be a First Air Super Stars!

Mini First Aiders in Year 2

Random acts of kindness in Nursery

In Nursery we have been thinking about what it means to be kind. As part of our expedition, we decided to make some beautiful pictures for Mrs Greening and Mrs Smith who work so hard in our school office. The children loved creating and presenting the artwork and everyone agreed that our acts of kindness made everyone feel so happy.

A great last week of term

In maths and P.E we had fun racing and learning about ordinal numbers.

Class Two are so Kind

Our day was brightened in Class Five today as we received a special delivery of crispy buns just to brighten our day from our friends in class two. What a kind thing to do – they were delicious! You must have worked so hard making them, we really appreciate your random act of kindness.

Crew Pumpkin Competition!

We have had the best time this morning in year two. We spent the morning designing and creating our pumpkins ready to be judged by Miss Tunney!

Next came the messy bit …

Finally, we carved our designs ready to be judged.

Miss Tunney then came into our community meeting to decide the winner. Each crew had to explain their design.

The winning crew was …. CREW PARSONS!!

Their design had the word crew with a different circle to represent each member of their crew. What a great idea!🎃

Rosa Parks fact gathering

Class 4 have been learning about champions throughout history. This week we learn about Rosa Parks. We use information technology to search for some interesting facts and share them with our learning partners. We have also enjoyed our active phonics this week!

Little Artists in the making…..

We looked at the large tree in our garden area. We noticed that the leaves are still green and are all still on the tree. We wonder what it will look like when we come back to school after the half term break?

We created pictures which were inspired by the artist Guiseppe Archimboldo:

We looked carefully at the work by Archimboldo and created our own versions:

We are going to sketch our work next…..we look forward to seeing what they look like when they are complete.
