Preparing for our experts!

We are getting ready to interview our experts tomorrow to help us answer our guiding question Diverse Doncaster: Where do I belong? We spent some time in crew this morning critiquing our visitor protocol, making sure we ready to get the most from our morning.

Year Two Mathematicians!

I am so proud of this group of mathematicians this afternoon – not only did they complete their work to a gold standard but they smashed their ME and achieved green standard by completing some really tricky two step word problems! Well done guys – what a great start to the week!

Back to school and back to the past …

As part of our History case study this morning we have been thinking about what schools in the 1800’s and 1900’s might have been like. We didn’t like the lack of technology, the cane or the dunces hat! We also decided we wouldn’t be able to create beautiful work if we had to sit all squashed up like they did in the past – we wanted Mrs Parsons to put our chairs back!

Sponsored Dance-A-Thon 💫

We are holding a sponsored dance-a-thon in school on Thursday 9th June in the morning. The children will take it in turns to ensure someone from each of our crews is dancing at all times during the morning. The money raised will go toward the Year Two children’s Norton Infant School leaving party.

Sponsor money should be paid into ParentPay before Friday 17th June. Sponsor forms are coming home with the children tonight

Thank you for your support,

Platinum Jubilee Celebrations

Tomorrow, Friday 27th May 2022, will you please send your child(ren) into school with a picnic blanket/mat for them to sit on outside whilst they have their lunch weather permitting. If we can’t sit outside the children will have an indoor picnic in the school Hall. Please put your child’s name on the blanket if possible so that we know who they belong to at the end of the day! Fingers crossed for a dry day!

Also, don’t forget your child can come to school wearing red, white and blue tomorrow too! ❤️🤍💙

Historical Writers

Wow! The children in class five have absolutely blown me away today. They have used all their learning about coal mines to write a recount from the perspective of a child working in the mine. I was really impressed with how the children shared their writing and offered critique.

Truly incredible work – I can’t wait to share the finished pieces with you all.

We are Historians!

We kicked off our new case study this morning by completing jigsaws of significant people. We then thought about if they were from the past or present and gave reasons why.

Brilliant start Class 5 ⭐️
