Thoughtful Thursday
In class crew this morning we have been thinking about our next student led conferences. We thought about the things that we would want to share with our grown ups when we next invite them into school.
We are looking forward to planning our student led conferences over the next few weeks and for the opportunity to share the beautiful work we are proud of.
Class Five are Authors!
We have been really busy in our expedition and English lessons. We have been learning all about different materials, we have also been reading different versions of the Three Little Pigs.
We decided to write our own version called The Three Little Knights and the Big Bad Dragon.
What do you think of our story? We are super proud of it!
Once upon a time there were three little knights. They lived in a beautiful, big castle with their mum, the Queen.
One day the Queen said, “Your fighting is too much. You must leave!”.
So the three little knights set off to find a new home.
The first little knight built his castle out of cardboard. Then the Big Bad Dragon knocked on the door. “Little knight, little knight let me come in!”
“No, no, no” said the little knight. “Not by the point on my shiny metal sword!”
“Then I’ll huff and I’ll puff and I’ll burn your castle down!”. So he huffed and he puffed and he burnt the castle down but the little knight ran back to his mum as fast as he could.
The second little knight built his castle out of wood. Then the Big Bad Dragon knocked on the door. “Little knight, little knight let me come in!”.
“No, no, no” said the little knight. “Not by the point on my shiny metal sword!”
“Then I’ll huff and I’ll puff and I’ll burn your castle down!”. So he huffed and he puffed and he burnt the castle down but the little knight ran back to his mum as fast as he could.
But the third little knight was smarter than the others and he built his castle out of stone and cement. Then the Big Bad Dragon knocked on the door. “Little knight, little knight let me come in!”
“No, no, no!” said the little knight. “Not by the point on my shiny metal sword!”
“Then I’ll huff and I’ll puff and I’ll burn your castle down!” So he huffed and he puffed and he tried and he tried but he could not burn the castle down!
The Big Bad Dragon got upset and started to cry.
Even though he had been mean, the little knights wanted to cheer him up. The Queen and the little knights had some fireworks so they invited the Big Bad Dragon to breathe fire and light them. They had a beautiful night watching the fireworks together.
Wise Wednesday
Our guiding question in crew today was ’What makes a good friend?’ We thought about Andy and Woody, Lilo and Stitch and Mr Bean and Teddy and what made them such good friend. Then we worked together to sort different scenarios into whether they were things that would make us a good friend or a not so good friend.
We finished off with reading The Selfish Crocodile – maybe you would like to watch it again? https://youtu.be/0-NhjfJ_RZI
Our check out was sharing what makes us a good friend – we felt really proud hearing our friends say such lovely things about us.
Tranquil Tuesday
We started the morning sharing a good book today 📚
