Spreading Kindness … Continued!

Today we have ticked the next mission on our bingo board. We thought about everyone in our community who we wanted to thank – we made cards and have been busy delivering them across the campus! Check out the rest of our photographs – there is a special card for our parents and adults at home too 🌟

Kindness doesn’t just stop when we finish school. Willow and her mummy have been busy spreading Christmas kindness by making Christmas hot chocolate bombs for everyone in class 5. Just look at all these happy smiles all caused by a little kindness ❤️

Keep it up class five! You’re making our class a very special place to be 🌟

Class Five are on a kindness mission this Christmas 🎄

We have been set a bingo mission to spread Christmas kindness across Norton Infant School.

We started by writing all the beautiful things we could think of about our school. We sneaked into Miss Tunney’s office and stuck them all over her door.

Keep an eye out for our next Christmassy act of kindness 🎁

Key Stage One Student Led Conferences

Hello parents/carers,

As the Autumn term draws to a close and we all begin to wind down for the Christmas break, we would like to invite parents and carers into school during the first two weeks back in January to attend your child’s student-led conference (SLC).

In this 10 minute session, your child, accompanied by their teacher or crew leader, will walk you through their journey so far. Children will talk about their achievements, challenges and next steps as well as showing you their favourite pieces of beautiful work.

Days are Monday (9th), Tuesday (10th), Wednesday (11th) There are morning, afternoon and evening slots available.

Please complete the form below by the deadline which is Thursday 15th December at 5pm.

Many thanks,

Key Stage One Team xx

Back to Back, Face to Face

This week in Class 2 we have been trying out a new strategy to help us ‘think, pair and share’. The children start this activity by standing back to back with a friend. I then ask them a question such as ‘how are you feeling this morning?’, ‘what are you looking forward to doing at school today?’ or ‘can you remember the tricky word we learned in phonics this week?’. The children have some silent thinking time and then when they hear me say ‘face to face’ they jump round and share their answers with their partner.

The children have engaged in this activity really well and it has had an impact on their ability to speak aloud about their thinking and listen carefully to others. Well done Class 2, you are working hard and getting smart!

Christmas Lunch 🎄

Today we all enjoyed eating Christmas lunch together in the dining hall. There were lots of happy faces and full tummies 😋 Miss Tunney and Mrs Ponsonby were also in the festive spirit serving everyone their dessert.

The Nativity story comes to life…

Today we were visited by a wonderful team of people from Bentley Baptist Church who performed the nativity story for the whole school. Three children even got to take on the roles of a wise man and shepherd. The children listened so carefully to the retelling of the story and really enjoyed themselves.

We would like to say a big thank you to our lovely visitors and we hope they will come back into school to share more bible stories with the children.

Bentley Baptist Church would like to invite you all to their Christingle Service this Saturday at 3pm. They said it would be wonderful to see you there.
