We all miss so much about not being together at school everyday – so here is a little video from our children telling you about just what a special place our school is and what they are missing the most.
Thank you so much to all the families who helped us with this.
The class teachers have started updating their class pages with news and photos and I will restart the HeadTeacher’s Award from Monday 4th May. Please visit our pages by visiting the Classes sub tab under Children. We hope you enjoy our updates.
The Department for Education have updated their guidance for parents and carers regarding online safety. Please see below.
Guidance for parents and carers: keeping children safe online
We have updated our information for parents and carers to include a section on keeping children safe online. It provides links to online resources that will help support parents and carers in keeping their children safe online.
Full details can be found in section 6.3 of the guidance for parents and carers on the closure of educational settings:
XP Schools have a moral imperative to keep our schools open and play our part in the fight against Covid 19.
If your work is critical to the COVID-19 response, or you work in one of the critical sectors listed, and you cannot keep your child safe at home, then your children will be prioritised for education provision.
That education provision is at XP School; XP, XP East, Green Top, Plover, Norton Infant School and Norton Junior School.
If you are unsure and want to discuss anything, call your school and a staff member will talk you through your questions.
We are all aware of the concerns associated with the Coronavirus and speed at which it is spreading.
Please be reassured that I receive daily updates from the Department for Education to help me manage the situation and make the necessary decisions regarding our school community. At the moment everything is continuing as normal and you will be informed if there are any changes.
The children and staff will be reminded to wash their hands regularly. It will help if this is reinforced at home too.
There are posters around school, in classrooms and public places from Public Health England, reminding everyone of how to minimise spreading of the virus – see below
Wash your hands more often for 20 seconds with soap and hot water.
Watch this short NHS film for guidance:
Teach young children how to wash their hands with the NHS handwashing song:
Public Health England recommends that in addition to handwashing before eating, and after coughing and sneezing, everyone should also wash hands after using toilets and travelling on public transport.
