We really enjoyed meeting the team from the Yorkshire Air Ambulance.
Category : Class Blogs
This week we have been lucky to have visits from experts:

We also had a visit from three wonderful volunteers at the Yorkshire Air Ambulance. We asked lots of questions and found out all about the important work that they do. We are going to have a ‘bring your bike’ to school day later in the term to raise as much money as we can to support the invaluable work that everyone at the Yorkshire Air Ambulance do.
We have also been Creative Chameleons in Class 1 this week:

Rudy built a Rocket.
Crew Elmer prepared questions for the Air Ambulance.
The girls made a ‘clubhouse’
Myla made NumberBlocks and wrote labels for each one.
Having fun with our learning
We have learnt how to tell the time and had a great time when exploring fruit.
Healthy living
As part of our expedition ‘How can I be the healthiest version of me’, we have learnt about different types of fruit, looked at their shape and texture and made careful observations when creating our fruit artwork.
Busy vehicles:

We have been working collaboratively to design and then make a boat. We explored materials to see which ones would be best to use to help our boats to float. We had lots of fun in the water tray:
We have also been busy decorating out papier mache hot air balloons. They look wonderful floating in the air in our classroom:
We have been thinking hard about all of the vehicles that we have found out about throughout this expedition so far:
And now we are ready to think about which vehicle we would choose to go on our adventure!
Using our senses to explore fruit.
We have been exploring fruit using our senses. We enjoyed tasting some fruits we haven’t even seen before and have produced some beautiful observational pencil and pastel drawings to fill Handa’s basket.
Welcome back!
To introduce our new core text ‘Handa’s Surprise’ we have been exploring Africa and learning about the animals, the clothing and the music.
We had so much fun creating animal collages to decorate our classroom.
We used fabric paints to design and decorate our African inspired t-shirts.
On Tuesday we had an amazing time during our African drumming workshop with our drumming expert Rome.
