Crew Challenge ⛓

This morning we had the challenge of making the longest paper chain in our crews. We could only use two pieces of poster paper, tape and scissors. We had to work really hard to communicate and work together. We all did a great job and surprisingly all ended up with the same length paper chain!

We are looking forward to our crew quiz tomorrow – I wonder who will win – Crew Tinker, Crew Goodyer or Crew Thurman?

Class 6 Final Word Presentations

What a wonderful week of ‘Final Words’ we have had!
I would just like to say a huge thank you to everybody who could make it this week to support the children. Class 6 really did themselves proud – they all presented so confidently and it was clear to see how much they all enjoyed the experience.
Well done everybody, you are all superstars!

Presentation of Learning

A huge thank you to everyone who attended the year two presentation of learning this afternoon. I was so proud of the children for leading the whole presentation themselves and to hear them so clearly articulate their learning was fantastic.

If you scroll down I have linked in the glossary and task if you would like the children to share their learning with other special people at home.

Don’t forget our recipe books and shopping products are available via parent pay to order.

We hope you enjoyed it too.

Artist of the week

This morning we have been exploring the work of Peter Thorpe, an American artist who creates abstract art and has created lots of artwork about space.

During our gallery walk we shared with our talk partners what we noticed, what we praised and what we wondered about each piece of artwork.
We are looking forward to creating our own pieces of space art using some of Peter Thorpe’s
techniques.

Sponsored Dance-A-Thon

What a morning filled with dancing, singing and fun! We are feeling very proud of ourselves for completing our challenge to make sure someone from Year 2 was filling the dance floor at all times all the way till lunchtime!
Thank you to everyone who supported us in raising funds towards our end of year celebrations!

Year Two Crew xx

!! FAO Year Two Parents !!

Dear Parents/carers,

During the next few weeks, our Year 2 children are preparing for their ‘Final Word’ presentation. This is a reflection on their Infant school years whereby they reflect on their character growth, academic success and the beautiful work that they have produced during their time at Norton Infant School. This is also a time to use their reflections to share why they are ready to take on their new challenge at Norton Junior School. This is something the children will be spending a lot of time on supported by their class teacher.

During their presentations, we would like to invite you to attend their Final Word along with their class teacher and possibly other members of staff too. Please fill out the form below by Friday 16th June so that staff can align times and dates for the year 2 pupils presentations.

Thank you for supporting the children with this important part of their time in year two.

Crew Check In

I asked my crew this morning what did they think was the most important thing they had learned so far at our school. I shared the biggest thing I had learned was that I learn new and amazing things every day from my class, crew and people I work with but their responses just blew me away …

Yoga … with an astronaut!

It’s Tranquil Tuesday today and we spent our time in crew doing some yoga. We used a Cosmic Yoga video with Jaime on Earth and Samantha Cristoforetti on the International Space Station! It was a relaxing way to start the day and get us all in the green zone!

Crew Parsons’ wanted the link to do it again at home, so here it is!

Great job today Crew Parsons xx

Mindful Monday in Crew Parsons

We started our crew circle with a funny check in this morning – how are you feeling?

Then we took our crew circle outside for a walk in the sunshine whilst we shared our news from over half term. When we circled back up we shared something we had found out from someone else in our crew – we even had a squirrel want to join our crew!!

What a lovely way to start the week!
