Celebrating Success!
We started our week off sharing some fantastic beautiful work and handing out some certificates to children who are working incredibly hard or are showing they are great members of our Norton crew.
We are looking forward to next week already! ⭐️

Ready, Steady, Read! 📕
Over half term the children took part in a sponsored reading event in partnership with Usborne Books. Their challenge was to read as much as possible and in an unusual or exciting place. We have loved sharing their photographs and Miss Tunney chose Pippa Evans as the winning entry. How exciting to read in the cockpit of a plane!
We feel extremely grateful to the children and their families for raising a phenomenal £3303!
This money will be used to buy new library books for our schools. Thank you so much!
What is Mental Health?
We had a focus on mental health in our assembly this morning. We thought about who we could talk to if we were struggling and we made pledges of something we would do this weekend to make our minds happy.
I can’t wait to hear about what you did next week!

KS1 Community Meeting
We had a great community meeting this morning! We have been thinking about our feelings and using our zones of regulation in our wise Wednesday sessions, so today we decided to think about how we could get ourself or others more into the green zone. We played charades and Mrs Parsons says!
I was so impressed with the confidence of all of our little actors!
We even managed to celebrate our brilliant basketball team who took part in a tournament at Campsmount yesterday.

KS1 Beautiful Work Community Meeting
There is no better way to start the week than with sharing the beautiful work that has been happening in classes. It was also lovely to give out postcards to those children who are always modelling our core values and HoWls during our community meetings.

Thoughtful Thursday
In crew today we checked in with something we have enjoyed so far this week. It was great to hear the variety of activities that everyone is enthusiastic about from singing assembly and reading sessions to learning about food chains and playing emotions corners.
We shared and celebrated some of the work we were most proud of and made pledges for the week ahead. Well done Crew Goodyer keep up the great work and never loose that enthusiasm for learning.
Keeping Healthy
We have been learning about the importance of being physically and mentally healthy in crew. We played charades to share with our crew some great ways to help our health.

Investigating Animals
Class 6 have been busy this week reading to research different animal groups. After sharing their findings and creating class anchor charts they were able to work collaboratively to identify and sort animals into their correct groups.
It was great to see everyone willing to share their ideas and ask questions to clarify their understanding.
Great work Class 6, keep it up!
Crew Thurman
It’s been a busy week in Crew Thurman – we have been busy preparing for our Student Led Conferences next week – we are looking forward to sharing them with our grown ups.
We spent Flexible Friday playing games – we thought it was a great end to the week!
