We have had an absoultely “super” day today completing our Superhero Training. We all started the day dressed up as superheroes.
Throughout the morning we took part in four different types of training to make sure we were the best superheroes we could possibly be: brain training, physical training, team training and creative training.
Today we were lucky enough to welcome our very first expert visitor of the expedition – the brilliant author and illustrator Phil Sheppard!
Phil shared some of his fantastic stories with us, and we especially loved The Worm Book. There were plenty of laughs and lots of fun as he brought the story to life while reading aloud.
Afterwards, we took part in a draw along where we learned how to create our very own superheroes. The children did an amazing job and showed off some fantastic creativity!
To make the day even more special, we had the opportunity to buy our very own signed book by Phil – a real treasure to keep.
We all agreed that Phil truly deserved one of our special Community Hero awards for his craftsmanship and the quality of his work. What an inspiring start to our expedition!
This week Class Six have been thinking all things Supertato! From Supertato maths to WANTED! posters for Evil Pea, we have been all in on Supertato. We even created our very own super veggies!
What an amazing first week in Class Six!
This week we dove head first into crew, and have been thinking all about how we can help ourselves and each other be the best versions of ourselves. As part of this, we have been thinking about the question “does crew stop at the school gates?”. We put together little gift packages, and this morning we went our of school and delivered them around Norton.
It has been lovely getting to know Class Six this week, and we cannot wait to start our new expedition next week!!
This morning Year 2 have had a virtual school visit with the author of How To Train Your Dragon – Cressida Cowell. We got to watch the new trailer for the film as well as listen to Cressida read extracts from her book and answer questions.
This morning, we had a wonderful Stay and Read session in the sunshine, and it truly was a lovely way to start the day. It was so special to see children reading to adults, adults reading to children, and everyone enjoying a quiet moment surrounded by books.
A huge thank you to all the parents and carers who joined us—it was extra special as it marked the final Stay and Read for your child at Norton Infant School. We’re so grateful for your continued support and for sharing these moments with us.
This morning we had the really exciting opportunity to have a workshop with Phoenix Dance!
Y2 have had a lovely time this morning in crew reading in the sunshine ☀️☀️
This week Class Six have been working as artists and creating rocket and space art inspired by Peter Thorpe. We worked with the tricky medium of chalk on black paper to create some stunning artwork!
We think the children have outdone themselves and the art is incredible!
This week Y2 have been making the most of the good weather! We spent lots of our crew sessions outside, but our favourite was our Tranquil Tuesday crew sessions.
