We had a visit before our march from Mr West and Mr McLaughlin – from Askern CRY Food Bank and St. Peter’s Church to give us more information about the foodbank we are supporting and the difference we are going to make to our community.
We have had a great week exploring Pop Art. We have looked at pieces of Pop Art by famous artists and said we we notice and praise about them. We then used pencils, paints and felt tip pens to start to create our own versions of Pop Art. We can’t wait to finish our posters, they will look amazing.
We were really lucky this week that National Poetry Day was on the same day as our community meeting! In crew we have been sharing, writing and performing poetry in preparation for today. Instead of our usual ‘news from the crews’ we had our very own poetry jam. It was brilliant to hear the children performing the poetry they have been enjoying this week to all of the other crews.

This term we have been developing our football skills and we enjoyed playing our team games and football matches in PE.
Today we were very lucky to receive a visit from Mr West, our local Baptist Minister. He came to speak to us about harvest time and also to speak about the local heroes who work at the food bank in Askern. It made us think about all of the things that we are grateful and thankful for.
We had a great morning and thank Mr West for spending time with us.
We launched our brand new crew champion awards in our Community Meeting today! It was lovely to hear crew leaders and children talk about each others howls and character traits.
Well done to our first group of recipients including our Miss Tinker!

A lovely start to our day in Year One, sharing our love of books. Harper said reading this morning has made her “feel happy”, Teddi said his book was “exciting” and Quinn said reading with her friend made her feel “calm”.
We have had a wonderful time this week meeting our crew buddies from Year 6. They visited our class and read us a lovely story. Today we have came into their classroom to share some yummy biscuits with them.
