What a brilliant morning of PE in Reception today. We have worked in our Crews to complete challenges at different stations. We all worked hard and had lots of fun!

Today we have investigated why the Gingerbread Man asked the sneaky fox to help him cross the river… We made our own predictions about what might happen. Then we dunked, held and dipped lots of different biscuits into water to see if our predictions were correct!
Yesterday we went on a walk to spot signs of Spring in our Crew time. We spotted lots of daffodils growing and realised this was a great sign of Spring. This morning have investigated daffodils. Some were still to open, some were in full bloom and some were trapped and frozen! We have painted daffodils, drawn daffodils, created daffodils and have even sung a song about daffodils! We used an iPad to take photographs of our investigations and loved looking at the pictures we had taken!

We had a wet and muddy afternoon but everybody loved it…

We have had the best morning inside at William’s Den… after we refuel with lunch we are going to explore the outdoors. No amount of rain is going to spoil our day. 🌧🌧

We had a fabulous time on Shrove Tuesday in EYFS … we mixed pancakes, we investigated the ingredients needed to make pancakes, we ate pancakes and we had a pancake race on the big field.

Today we decided we wanted to find the windmill that Class 1 had told us all about. We thought about our core text this week – Hansel and Gretel and realised that we could make a trail whilst we hunted for the windmill. It was cold, but we wrapped up well and set about finding the windmill. We had so much fun and cannot wait for our next adventure!

After a week of exploring and investigating in our Curiosity Cube we are finally celebrating all things Chinese New Year!

In EYFS today we have been learning about Remembrance Day, we have been thinking about the brave soldiers who protect our country to keep us all safe. We have printed poppies, made edible poppy biscuits and delivered them as a random act of kindness to all of the grown ups in school who help keep us safe everyday. We also surprised the staff at the Junior School with a biscuit too! We have coloured poppies, drawn our own poppies and even attempted to write the sounds we hear in words.
