We cracked the code 🐣🐰

Class 1 used their detective skills to figure out where the chocolate eggs were hiding…

We discovered that the eggs were in the hall! We enjoyed our well deserved chocolate treat 😁🐰

Day 4 – Our little chicks 🐥🐥🐥🐥

The chicks have now been moved into a brooder box. They have settled beautifully into their new home.

The children have shown real care and consideration for our little chicks, which has been really lovely to see.

We are so happy watching them grow 🐥🥰

Day 2 in the Norton Incubator…

We’ve noticed some of the eggs wobbling and watched the first crack appear… The children have loved taking care of the chicks so far and can’t wait to meet the first one that hatches. We’ve set up a video recording over night in the hope that we can catch it on camera 🐣.

We have some special visitors…

The children in EYFS are very excited by the arrival of 14 chicks that are two to three days from hatching!

We are going to be watching them very closely to see if we can see any eggs with cracks or wobbling meaning the chicks are starting to make their way out into the world. It’s going to be great fun looking after them over the next two weeks!

Red Nose Day Competition 🔴

We have been so impressed with the t-shirt designs around school today. Below are the winners from the different classes, voted for by the children. Our overall winner, picked by Mrs Ponsonby is . . . Brooke!

We will make sure all of our winners get their prizes on Monday morning – well done everyone!

Thank you to everyone who wore red, designed a shirt or made a contribution to Comic Relief.

Caring for our pets 🐶🐾

In expedition this week we have been thinking about how we care for living things. In our crew session this morning the children thought about what a dog needs to be happy and healthy. They came up with some great ideas. 💡 Great team work skills too! 😁

Kindness is everything 💞

Today a little girl in Class 1 chose to make something for another child in our class, something she knew he would like. She made him smile so widely and it really touched my heart. Be kind, always xx

Reception visit Boston Park Farm

Yesterday we had a brilliant time at Boston Park Farm. There were many different activities for us to do and lots of fun to be had! We saw alpacas, pigs, cows, sheep, goats, ponies, chickens, turkeys, rabbits and guinea pigs!

We enjoyed feeding the animals. Children learned to hold their hands out flat to allow the animals to eat the food without nibbling their fingers.

Farmer David took us for a ride in the trailer pulled along by his huge red tractor. We then had the chance to look at the other farm machinery and have a sit on the other tractors. There was a ginormous combine harvester, the children aren’t even as tall as the front tyre!

We ate our lunch in the dining hall and played together outside.

We also had great time creating some pictures of the lambs using crayons and popcorn!

We were so proud of how polite and well behaved the children were. They were all so sensitive to the animals as they were handling them and fantastic representations of our school.

Well done Reception children!
