We are geographers in Class 3

This week we have been considering the question ‘What is geography?’ We took part in a scavenger hunt around school to photograph clues that helped us to answer the question. We studied a variety of maps identifying their features and finally located the 7 continents and 5 oceans of the world.

What is Geography?

Firstly the children wrote down all the things they already knew. Then we completed a scavenger hunt in school to explore our ideas further and took photos of what we saw on the ipads.

Great work class 6!

Safer Internet Day 2022

This week in Class 4

We have had a very exciting week learning about animals and exploring habitats. We loved our silent conversation when we worked in our teams to match animals to their homes. The children worked extremely hard when using ICT and nonfiction books to find facts about their animals and they shared their presentation in front of the class. This week we had lots of fun in PE and Maths lessons.

Exploring Habitats

Finally the children worked in groups to explore one habitat in more detail. They worked collaboratively and then presented their work to the rest of the class.

I was so impressed with how they supported each other whilst presenting. You are all amazing!

Exploring habitats in Class 3

This week Class 3 have been exploring habitats and the animals that live there. We’ve researched with our partners using books and the internet and have enjoyed watching lots of interesting videos that have helped us to learn more about habitats around the world. We are looking forward to completing our presentations and sharing them in crew.

Digital Leaders

Notice for all students in Year 2

Students in Year 2 have an amazing opportunity to become a Digital Leader within our XP schools.

This is a fantastic opportunity for children to develop their own individual skills when it comes to the latest technology. Children who are successful will get the opportunity to visit XP East and potentially the Apple Store to have further training on how to use technology including iPads, MacBooks and some of the other great technology that is used throughout schools. Our Digital Leaders will then become the experts who can then pass on their knowledge to our staff and students.

Below is a link to the Digital Leaders website where you can find out further information.

https://sites.google.com/xpeast.org/digital-leader-applications/home

Applications will need to be sent to Mrs Parsons by Thursday 3rd February explaining why you would make a fantastic Digital Leader. This can be done in a format of your choice including a letter, slides or even a video showcasing your IT skills.

I can’t wait to see your applications!
