We have been busy in class five this week – critiquing, designing and making our own memory boxes for Beegu to remind her of her time in Norton.
We are designers…
We have been cutting out nets and making small scale boxes. We critiqued some existing boxes too 🙂 We are getting ready to make our final product! How exciting!
We are geographers…
We have been using aerial photographs to spot human and geographical features.
In Nursery we are really enjoying learning about numbers. We have been focusing on numbers 2 and 3. Some children have had a go at writing numerals independently. Well done!
Our Nursery children have been really busy mark making. They have been drawing horizontal and vertical lines to help them with their future letter writing. 
Our Nursery children loved dressing up and having a party to celebrate completing their first half term in Nursery. A big well done to everyone!
The children took turns to read their Wonderful World poems aloud to the class. They all did an amazing job and I couldn’t be prouder 😀

We had to show resilience and determination in maths this week. We worked in pairs to complete tarsia puzzles. It made our brains go ouch! They collaborated so well together 😀

We have had a very busy half term in Class 1 getting to know each other and starting our first expedition of the year:
As part of our hook week we made a giant ‘Guess Who’ board. We had lots of fun looking at photographs of ourselves as babies and discussing how we have changed now we are 4 and 5 years old:
We have also been looking at the outside of our bodies and naming our body parts. We looked closely at the colour of our skin, hair and eyes to paint a self-portrait:
We have then been learning about what is inside our body and what makes our body work:
We look forward to learning lots more about our body after half term.
In English we acted out the story about Beegu. Then we used ‘popcorn’ idea to respond to the question: What does Beegu say in the story? The children worked with their partners sharing and discussing their ideas.
In class 6 this week we received a letter from Beegu. She told us she wasn’t sure whether she would visit Earth again unless she knew about it’s beauty. Our mission was to write her a letter to persuade her that Planet Earth was a beautiful place. We did a think pair share and drew all the things that make our world wonderful. We ended our week with a well deserved Golden Time…
