What a lovely morning we have had in year two! We were joined in school by lots of parents and grandparents to share their memories of school and our local area of Norton, whilst having a cup of tea and a biscuit.
It was also lovely for the children to be able to share the work and product they completed during our first expedition – “What will I do to be a champion in my community?” If you would like a copy of their fantastic notebook, complete with pledges and art work – you can purchase one on ParentPay or contact Mrs Robson or myself.
As always, a huge thank you for your support.

Class Five have blown us away with their critique and resilience this morning. We watched Austin’s butterfly before critiquing our own work and having a go at our second draft – the improvements are amazing!
Class Five spent a lovely morning in the sunshine looking at local landmarks and taking photographs ready for our art work later in the week.
Yesterday we were very lucky to be visited by Geoff and his drone. He talked to the children about aerial photography and different ways we can take photos. We then went outside and watched Geoff fly his drone 120 meters up in the air! He took some amazing photos of school and the surrounding areas.
We have been absolutely blown away with the extended study the children have been doing over their Easter break! The challenge was to make a model of some where in our local area – the results were incredible! What do you think?
Thursday 21st April (Year 2 -9.00-9.30)
Friday 22nd April (Year 1 – 9.00 – 9.30)
In our next expedition we are looking in detail at Norton and our local area, including the history of our school and community. We would like to invite family members to an informal coffee morning where you can have a drink and a bun while sharing your experiences of how Norton and our school have changed over the years. If you have experience of living in a contrasting area too then it would be great for the children to be able to compare. Even better, if you have old photographs to share then we would love to see them.
Thank you

Class Five were working really hard yesterday gathering their ideas to write their own description of an underwater paradise based on our core text – The Tin Forest.
I can’t wait to read the finished pieces.

We decided to move our lesson outside this morning. We shared our new text ‘The Tin Forest’ and acted out the key parts of the story before then sequencing and retelling the story.
Great job class five – you worked really hard.

Class Five have been grappling with some challenging texts to support with their expedition – How will what I do today impact the world tomorrow?
Great job Class Five – keep it up.
