Super Mathematicians!

I’m fearing for my job after our lesson this morning!

Not only did the children complete their division work, and achieve their ME. They explained their reasoning to the whole class.

I’m super impressed Class 5 xx

What an incredible experience . . .

This afternoon, as part of our music case study, we have been lucky enough to give the children the most incredible experience. We have had a visit from one of our fantastic parents, Mr Lamb – who just so happens to be a very talented Opera Singer.

He shared with the children his life as a singer, taught us some vocal exercises, talked about singing all over the world and performed a piece from Carmen for us.

The children and staff are feeling very lucky to have had such a magical experience as part of our expedition.

Life Cycles

Class Five have been busy being scientists this morning. We have been thinking about the human life cycle – some of us even challenged ourselves to compare the human life cycle to other living things.

Great job Class Five,

Our Musical Superstar 🌟

Class 5 have been absolutely blown away this morning!

We always knew our Beatrice was talented but we had no idea just what a superstar she was! We went rogue with our musician of the week today and enjoyed listening to Bea perform a song from Matilda the Musical!

I am definitely getting her autograph! 🌟

Needs vs. Wants

This morning in our expedition session we were thinking about the difference between the things we need to survive and this things we might want but don’t actually need to survive. I was very impressed with the mature and sensible conversations.

Well done class five xx

Spotted being scientists 🔎

I just wanted to share this photograph I took on Friday and forgot to share. We have planted some beans in our window greenhouse – we have been carefully observing them over the past week to see how they are changing and growing. It’s lovely to see the children leading their own learning and checking in on our experiment over the day without any input from the grown ups.

The future of science is safe with this budding group of scientists.

Expert Visitor – Dr Teanby-Clark

Today we had Dr Steph Teanby-Clark come into school. She explained her job to us and showed us some of the equipment and tools she uses. She also answered our questions about how we could be the healthiest version of ourselves. We were really impressed with the thoughtful questions and respectful listening from the children in class five.

We are looking forward to using what we have found out towards answering our guiding question.
