Class 3 mathematicians

In maths lessons we have been working collaboratively through a series of addition and subtraction number problems. We did a great job of using different strategies to work out the answers to some tricky questions.

We have also enjoyed exploring capacity and volume so we are now ready to use these skills in our baking next week.

Well done Class 3…..you have all worked really hard this week!

Exploring Outdoors

In Crew this week we have enjoyed spending time outdoors making connections between ourselves and the great outdoors. We have spent time talking about ourselves and people that are important to us before spending some quality time together outside, enjoying being in the fresh air with the people that are important to us in school. It made us feel really happy when we spotted some of the first signs of spring time in our woods.

Maths magic……

This week we have been exploring numbers to 20 and how to represent these in many different ways. We have all worked really hard and have shown enthusiasm and resilience when working through tasks:

Stan and Mabel

We are very proud of our work so far.

We have also worked hard on our Stan and Mabel sketches. We have been learning shading techniques and how to add lots of detail to our work:

What an incredible experience . . .

This afternoon, as part of our music case study, we have been lucky enough to give the children the most incredible experience. We have had a visit from one of our fantastic parents, Mr Lamb – who just so happens to be a very talented Opera Singer.

He shared with the children his life as a singer, taught us some vocal exercises, talked about singing all over the world and performed a piece from Carmen for us.

The children and staff are feeling very lucky to have had such a magical experience as part of our expedition.
