Pop Art in KS1
We have had a great week exploring Pop Art. We have looked at pieces of Pop Art by famous artists and said we we notice and praise about them. We then used pencils, paints and felt tip pens to start to create our own versions of Pop Art. We can’t wait to finish our posters, they will look amazing.
KS1 Community Meeting
We were really lucky this week that National Poetry Day was on the same day as our community meeting! In crew we have been sharing, writing and performing poetry in preparation for today. Instead of our usual ‘news from the crews’ we had our very own poetry jam. It was brilliant to hear the children performing the poetry they have been enjoying this week to all of the other crews.

Flexible Friday Autumn Walk
Today we went for a walk around our beautiful grounds. We looked at the changes that are happening around us now it is Autumn. What a great way to start the day.
KS1 expert visitor
Today we were very lucky to receive a visit from Mr West, our local Baptist Minister. He came to speak to us about harvest time and also to speak about the local heroes who work at the food bank in Askern. It made us think about all of the things that we are grateful and thankful for.
We had a great morning and thank Mr West for spending time with us.
Marvellous Mathematicians
In Year One we have been working really hard in maths. We have been counting sets of objects and representing one more in different ways. We have also been solving problems and working through reasoning activities…..we have been amazing.
Crew Champions
We launched our brand new crew champion awards in our Community Meeting today! It was lovely to hear crew leaders and children talk about each others howls and character traits.
Well done to our first group of recipients including our Miss Tinker!
We are looking forward to next week already!

Reading for pleasure in Crew
A lovely start to our day in Year One, sharing our love of books. Harper said reading this morning has made her “feel happy”, Teddi said his book was “exciting” and Quinn said reading with her friend made her feel “calm”.

We celebrated the day by sharing lots of lovely stories and making bookmarks in Class 3. We are going to enjoy spending time in our reading area this year exploring many more books.
