KS1 Nativity

Our Key Stage One children did two amazing performances of ‘A Miracle in Town’. They sang beautifully, spoke clearly and performed confidently to their audiences. We are very proud of each and every one of you!!

A Truly Magical Time of the Year…

We were super excited this morning to take part in our very special assembly. Mr West visited our school again and this time he taught us about the Christmas celebrations. We enjoyed acting out the Christmas story, singing Christmas songs and discussing the meaning of Christmas. We loved learning about this special festival and we are looking forward to exploring it further in our RE lessons. Thank you Mr West for making this time of year even more magical for our school!

We are historians

In Year One we have been thinking about the past and how things were different when our older relatives were children. We looked at toys and other everyday household objects and sorted them onto a Venn diagram. This caused lots of discussions and we used words such as ‘then’, ‘now’, ‘past’, ‘present’ and ‘a long time ago’.

Being heroes in our community

Today the KS1 children and families were extremely kind as they donated many items to be given to the Askern CRY Foodbank. We were overwhelmed by the generosity of our families and look forward to seeing our foodbank experts very soon to give them our donations.

Expert Visitors

We had a visit before our march from Mr West and Mr McLaughlin – from Askern CRY Food Bank and St. Peter’s Church to give us more information about the foodbank we are supporting and the difference we are going to make to our community.

Pop Art in KS1

We have had a great week exploring Pop Art. We have looked at pieces of Pop Art by famous artists and said we we notice and praise about them. We then used pencils, paints and felt tip pens to start to create our own versions of Pop Art. We can’t wait to finish our posters, they will look amazing.
