A huge thank you to all of those families who attended our Norton by the Sea celebration of learning this afternoon.
Below is a link to a little video of the event.
We would really appreciate it if you could take a few minutes to fill in this GoogleForm to give us a little bit of feedback to make it even better next time.
We would like to invite you to a celebration of learning for our Summer term expedition: What happens where the sea meets the shore?
Our Norton by the sea day will take place on Thursday 14th July. We would like to invite you to join us between 1.30pm and 3.20pm. During that time you and your child will be able to spend time with their friends and visit the hot dog, ice cream and sweet stalls. You can also take part in other activities such as face painting and bouncy castle fun for which there will be a small charge. We will also have paddling pools to splash in and you may even get chance to soak a teacher!
We have also been learning a couple of seaside themed songs to treat you with.
Please feel free to bring a picnic blanket, chairs or any snacks and soft drinks that you may wish to share with your friends and family.
We are looking forward to celebrating your child’s learning with you ☀️🏖
This morning the children in Reception are designing and making flags ready for their supporters to wave at sports day next week. We are excited to find out which Crew will be the winner.
We had the best start to our Friday! We had soft play in our hall! We climbed, jumped, rolled, balanced, built tall, knocked down, bounced and had the most fun ever!
Class Five have been making me laugh at lunch time this week with their jokes! They decided they wanted to make everyone else smile too so here is a little video of some of our favourites to make you all smile.
Tomorrow, Friday 27th May 2022, will you please send your child(ren) into school with a picnic blanket/mat for them to sit on outside whilst they have their lunch weather permitting. If we can’t sit outside the children will have an indoor picnic in the school Hall. Please put your child’s name on the blanket if possible so that we know who they belong to at the end of the day! Fingers crossed for a dry day!
Also, don’t forget your child can come to school wearing red, white and blue tomorrow too! ❤️🤍💙
Today we held our first ever Student Led Conferences – the children did a fantastic job sharing their learning and beautiful work, speaking about what they are proud of and what they need to work on to get even better.
It was brilliant to see the children articulating their learning so well with the help of their teachers.
It was lovely to wander around our school this morning and see all of the fantastic things happening in our crew sessions – we had children reflecting on their howls, sharing stories and talking about their feelings using our zones of regulation. What a way to start the day!
In EYFS this week we have been learning about how seaside holidays were different in the past. We have looked at lots of old photographs, explored a treasure basket with items from the past and then also enjoyed a traditional Punch and Judy performance. We loved the show and can’t wait to tell our grown-up’s at home all about it.
We will be celebrating Better World Day on Thursday 5th May (a day early). We are asking children to come into school wearing something blue or yellow. We are asking for voluntary contributions of 50p to raise money to send funds directly into Ukraine to support those in need. We will be talking about Better World Day in crew this week too.
