EYFS Gallery Walk

Class one have been on a gallery walk today. We looked at pictures of different types of water transport and wrote down all the things we noticed. The children blew me away with what they wrote down and the knowledge they had! 😊

Sink or float?

We enjoyed learning about floating and sinking in our crew session today. The children made sensible predictions and recorded their findings. Great job, 👏 Mrs Chadwick xx

Skipping into the half term 😄

We celebrated some of our wonderful children’s achievements in our community meeting this morning. We have shown kindness to others, worked hard in phonics and have been challenging ourselves. Noah enjoyed sharing his football medal. 👏

The children are amazing us with their efforts in writing and have written some imaginative stories. We have also enjoyed lots of outdoor learning in the beautiful sun shine this week.🌞 Thank you for all your hard work and for making us smile xx

Yorkshire Air Ambulance 🚁

We’ve had an amazing visit today. Holly came to talk to the children about the Yorkshire Air Ambulance service. We learned all about where the helicopters live, how fast they travel and the places they might go to.

Isla shared the incredible news about her mum, who recently ran the London marathon and raised £1000 for this amazing charity 👏

A big thanks to all those who have kindly donated to the charity’s clothes bank. It costs £19,000 each day to keep this amazing crew going so every little helps.

Back in the classroom the children have enjoyed writing about what they have learned from our expert visitor…

We are writers ✍

We have been working hard to write simple sentences this week. The children have used their phonic knowledge to spell words and also tried hard with their letter formation.👏 What super stars you all are!

Bonds to 10 🔢🔟

This week the children have really impressed me with their maths skills. We have been finding pairs of numbers that make 10. We have used numicon and multilink to help us find all our number bonds to 10. This is us working hard in Maths this week…

Once upon a time…

We thought about how Red Riding Hood travelled to her Granny’s house and made maps of her journey…

We enjoyed acting out the story in our story circle using props 😁 We had some great performances 👏

Mapping it out

We have created some beautiful work this week. We have been looking at a book titled ‘Martha Maps it Out’. We made links between the map of her local area and what we might find in ours. We took the children on a walk around Norton to see if we were right.

We enjoyed our walk and the children behaved beautifully!

Back in school we have mapped out our journey and have created some beautiful work. Here are some of our amazing maps…
